🧚 FlyFairy Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 22, 2026  Â·  Last updated: July 22, 2026

Overview

FlyFairy (“we,” “our,” or “the extension”) is a Chrome browser extension that helps you notice potential booking risks on Expedia flight pages by reading information already visible on those pages.

In short FlyFairy does not sell your data, does not run advertising trackers, and does not send your browsing content to our servers. Processing happens locally in your browser.

Information we collect

FlyFairy collects very little information:

Extension preference (stored locally)

When you use the FlyFairy toolbar popup, the extension saves one setting — whether risk panels are enabled or disabled — using Chrome’s built-in chrome.storage.sync API. This may sync across your signed-in Chrome browsers if you have Chrome Sync turned on.

Information we do not collect

How FlyFairy uses page content

On supported Expedia flight pages, FlyFairy reads text that is already displayed on the page (such as itinerary details, fare rules, and fees shown by Expedia). This text is processed entirely on your device to generate alert labels (for example, “Non-refundable” or “1 connection”).

Permissions explained

FlyFairy requests only the permissions needed to operate:

storage

Used to save your enable/disable preference described above.

Host access (Expedia websites)

The extension runs on Expedia flight pages (such as expedia.com and selected regional Expedia domains) so it can read visible flight information and display alert panels. FlyFairy does not request broad access to all websites.

Third parties

FlyFairy does not integrate third-party analytics, advertising networks, or social media trackers.

Data retention and deletion

Children’s privacy

FlyFairy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Security

Because FlyFairy processes page content locally and does not operate backend servers for user data, the main privacy risk surface is limited to your browser environment. We recommend keeping Chrome updated and installing extensions only from trusted sources.

International users

FlyFairy is designed for users browsing Expedia regional sites. If you use Chrome Sync, your preference data may be processed according to Google’s data practices in the regions where Google operates.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of FlyFairy after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
